Position for research engineer working on a global precipitation data record open at CNRS in Toulouse

Date 2019-01-09

CNRS has recently joined the EUMETSAT Satellite Application Facility on Climate Monitoring (CM SAF).
CNRS is responsible for the “Global Precipitation” project that aims at documenting, at global scale, liquid and solid precipitation at the surface of the globe at the 1° 1 day resolution over the last 20 years. To reach this goal, data from microwave imagers and sounders are resolved in instantaneous precipitation estimate (so called level 2 data) and are merged with infrared observations obtained from geostationary platforms to produce daily accumulation estimates (so called level 4 data). The project involves the LEGOS laboratory, the IPSL Institute on the CNRS side and a team from DWD. The DWD team is in charge of the level 2 developments and CNRS is responsible for the level 4. Operational production will be realized by DWD as well.

CNRS is seeking a research engineer to help with this project. More details on the position and how to apply can be found via the following link.
